About Dr. Cluff

Dr. Cluff is a Family Physician who practices in Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  The greatest contribution he has always hoped to make to the world of health is to find what no one else has been able to find (the Holy Grail):  That magical intersection between what’s effective (for long-term health and weight loss) and what’s livable for most people.  After over 20 years of research, troubleshooting, experimenting, wrestling with his own weight, and counseling patients, he hopes that SLIM TLC is that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

When SLIM TLC was originally conceived, Dr. Cluff was excited to offer the program to his patients.  However, he later realized that by partnering with other physicians and creating an online “university,” along with developing the option of doing it on your own (its current format), he could make it available to everyone else, instead of being limited to a small group of people.

Doug smallDr. Cluff received his Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree at the Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas, and did his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Conroe, Texas.  Prior to medical school he performed genetic and immunological research at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Texas Medical Association, and Dallas County Medical Society.  Dr. Cluff is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).  As a Family Physician, his greatest passions are weight management and preventive health, which he is confident hold the key to saving our health care system.

Dr. Cluff’s hobbies include sports, writing, playing piano, singing, watching movies, and spending time with his wife, Sandra, and six children, ages 8-20.  He is also fluent in Spanish.
