Douglas M. Cluff, M.D., founder of SLIM TLC®

Douglas M. Cluff, M.D., founder of SLIM TLC®

Dr. Cluff received his Medical Doctor degree at the Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas, and did his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Conroe, Texas.


He has been interested in weight loss since 1990, when he started gaining weight in his mid-20s.  He soon began to develop his own

He has been interested in weight loss since 1990, when he started gaining weight in his mid-20s.  He soon began to develop his own strategies and systems, including adult and pediatric programs, and wrote a couple of books on the subject.  After fine-tuning his approach and troubleshooting with many patients, he founded SLIM TLC® in 2011.  


Dr. Cluff has been actively practicing Family Medicine since 2001, and in 2017 he started a membership practice called TLC Family Health.  He has founded non-profit organizations called Project Simplify Health and Keep Flower Mound Healthy  He is writing another book, How Not to Get Sick, and soon he is starting a healthy restaurant called WHOLi KaBOWLi! 


Dr. Cluff is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).  His hobbies include entrepreneurship, sports, writing, playing piano, singing, watching movies, and spending time with his wife, Sandra, six children (ages 17-29, two sons-in-law, and four grandchildren (ages 1-6).  He is also fluent in Spanish.

Rebecca (“Becky”) is a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) and earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She did her undergraduate studies in Biology and Biochemistry at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  


Prior to joining Dr. Cluff and SLIM TLC®, she worked for 

Rebecca (“Becky”) is a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) and earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She did her undergraduate studies in Biology and Biochemistry at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  


Prior to joining Dr. Cluff and SLIM TLC®, she worked for seven years in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, where she was a surgical first assistant in over 2600 orthopedic surgeries.  She then worked for seven years in Family Medicine, a few of which were alongside Dr. Cluff.  She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).


Becky values building trust with patients and working with them to build a healthy lifestyle that fits their unique needs and circumstances.  In her previous position, she ran the SLIM TLC® program for Dr. Cluff. 

 

She cherishes the time she gets to spend with family and friends.  A favorite pastime is traveling to explore the great outdoors with her husband, Andy, and their son and daughter.  Some of her other hobbies include painting and hand-making cards, running, and most anything sports-related.

Marie has always had a passion for healthy living and understands the impact of diet and its effects on disease progression and prevention. She has seen the benefits of healthy eating and regular exercise firsthand. As a health coach, she understands that making lifestyle changes is difficult. That is why she believes that small steps over time are the key to success. 


Marie graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Nutrition from the University of Utah. It was there where her love and understanding of the human body flourished. The knowledge she gained there paved the way for sharing her passion for health with family, friends and community.  She taught Anatomy and Physiology at Dixie State University in St. George, UT, for 10 years. She cherished her time helping students acquire foundational knowledge in preparation for various healthcare fields.

 

After undergoing rehab for a knee injury, having 3 children and feeling the effects of stress on the body, Marie understands the importance of keeping the musculoskeletal system strong and healthy. In so doing she discovered a newfound love for yoga. Marie is anxious to share her knowledge of gaining and maintaining health through nutrition and exercise with SLIM TLC® participants, as they are key elements to living a long, happy life!

Chalyse earned her degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University (BYU) and has a lifelong passion for helping others discover the benefits of living an active lifestyle. For several years, she volunteered as a fitness class instructor, encouraging members of her local community to build strength, confidence, and healthy habits 

Chalyse earned her degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University (BYU) and has a lifelong passion for helping others discover the benefits of living an active lifestyle. For several years, she volunteered as a fitness class instructor, encouraging members of her local community to build strength, confidence, and healthy habits through regular exercise.


As an endurance athlete, she has completed multiple half marathons, a full marathon, and a Ragnar Relay race. These experiences have reinforced her belief that fitness is not about perfection—it is about consistency, growth, and finding activities that bring joy.


She believes staying active is one of the greatest investments a person can make in their overall well-being. She has found that regular exercise has the power to increase joy, improve mental and physical health, and bring greater fulfillment to everyday life. More than just a workout, she views fitness as a lifestyle that empowers people to feel stronger, healthier, and more capable of enjoying all that life has to offer. 


Chalyse enjoys spending time with her husband and their five children. As a family, they love staying active and making memories together outdoors.  In her spare time, she loves to hike, play pickleball, mountain bike, bake delicious treats, read and travel.
